Maleficent is loosely inspired by Charles Perrault's original fairy tale and Walt Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty.
Cathryn Avison worked on the dress worn by Elle Fanning in the role of Aurora. Cathryn has also worked on Maleficent 2, which will be released in the Autumn of 2019.
