Embroidery for Film, Television & Theatre

Cathryn works with a small talented team at her studio in the West Sussex countryside creating bespoke embroidery designs and production for film, television and theatre. Her approach is contemporary whilst using traditional techniques at the highest level of craftsmanship.

“I use my threads like paint and the needle as a brush”

Cathryn hand stitches and beads, and uses two machines, the Cornely which makes a chain stitch and the Irish which she specialises in, allowing her to develop flowing freehand embroidery.

Film and theatre projects Cathryn designed and embroidered include Maleficent 1 & 2, Aladdin, Mulan, The Crown (seasons 2&3), Outlaw King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Cinderella, Snow White and the Huntsman, Swan Lake (ROH), Alice in Wonderland (ROH) and La Traviata (ROH).
